Late Night Heroes marks the beginning of a new chapter in this Edmonton, Alberta based performing songwriter`s career. The songs are a more personal view of the things that effect her life and music. The album focuses on the relationships, both good and bad, that make us who we are, and the persistence it takes to make our way in the world.

That persistence is something that Luann has found to be the key to her writing, and performance. She`s found that you have to keep moving forward no matter what the obstacles, and take joy in the little things that keep us going. That belief is what keeps Luann going in the studio, on the stage, and during the writing process.

Late Night Heroes charts the growth of this thoughtful and spirited song writer. It is touching, humorous and caring. It is about friends, lovers and late nights. It is an inspired and emotional introduction to the appealing and evocative lyrics and voice of this emerging Canadian talent.

Her second album Grace brought her well deserved acclaim and the attention of Ragged Pup records artist Wyckham Porteous. He had the chance to see and hear her perform at the Edmonton Folk Festival and came home with her album and his advice for label president Doug Baxter. "I think she has something special. We should try and sign her before a big label does." She does and we did!

Then began the daunting task of completing the new songs for the album. Luann was encouraged by people like Susan Aglukark, Rosanne Cash, Jann Arden and the Wyrd Sisters to keep writing and performing. Her perseverance finally lead to the studio with producer Rick Fenton ( Amos Garrett, Joel Sonnier, Bill Bourne, Greyhound Tradgedy, Captain Nemo) and Nashville mixing engineer Miles Wilkinson (John Prine, Emmylou Harris, Guy Clarke). From there the songs and the music grew like a friendship.
